Welcome to our weekly BLOG: The Moodle Newdle. We’ll introduce you to some new Moodle features, as well as explore some of those you might have missed or forgotten. We hope to cover: communication, accessibility, multimedia, and more.
Regular and Substantive Interaction (RSI) can be both simple and powerful. The practice is for you, the instructor, to initiate interaction to guide learning and support student success. Namely, provide proactive guidance and create opportunities for your learners to improve their performance. Make it a habit to reach out to students who are inactive or falling behind. One way to start is by leaving a 30-second audio or video note in your assignment feedback. Students hear your tone, encouragement, and personality, which builds connection much faster than a long block of text.
PRO TIP: Post a weekly question in the Ask & Share forum to spark conversation, and respond to every student post that comes in. You might also record a short announcement video highlighting a common theme you noticed in their work the week. These small actions reassure students that you are actively involved in their learning and paying attention to their progress.
