Compose a Course Message in Quickmail

Communication with students is very important aspect of online learning. Quickmail can be used to compose a course message to your entire course, select groups, or specific users. These messages can be sent immediately or you can schedule your message to be sent at a specific date and time.

If you haven’t already you need to Add the Quickmail Block to your course.

Locate the Quickmail block on the expanded Block drawer on the right side of the page.

Click on Compose Course Message

Select the Users, Roles or Groups you would like to send the message to (you can use ctrl to select multiple users).

Click on the Add button to move them to the box on the right.

Type in a descriptive Subject.

NOTE: If you set up the Quickmail Configuration to Prepend Course Short Name it will add your course short name to the front of every subject line so you do not need to remember to type that in here.

Type in the Body of your message using the textbox editor to format your message.

NOTE: You can copy and paste Supported user data fields into the body of your email to personalized the message.

You can also choose to attach files, use a signature, or elect to send the message at a specific date and time.

When you are done click on Send Message.
