If you already have an Attendance activity from last term you need only to populate it with more sessions. Only make a second Attendance Activity if you have different types of attendance to take such as lecture attendance and lab attendance with each type being worth a different point value.
Open the Actions Menu (gear icon) from the top-right of the page.
Select the Turn Editing On option.
Scroll to the bottom of the week or Topic of your choosing.
Click the Add an activity or resource link
Select the Attendance Option.
Click Add button from the bottom of the new window.
From the new page where you establish Attendance Settings:
OPTIONAL: Change the Name of the Attendance activity if you have more than one attendance type
Expand the Grade Section
Ensure Type is set to Point
Set the value of Maximum Points to the total worth of this attendance type. (Not the values of individual class-meetings.)
Click the Save and display button so we can now populate this activity with class sessions for the term.
Your attendance activity is now ready to have the sessions for the coming term added to it.
