Welcome to our weekly BLOG: The Moodle Newdle. We’ll introduce you to some new Moodle features, as well as explore some of those you might have missed or forgotten.
Multimedia learning is based on four core categories of digital media. Each media type shapes how learners engage with information:
- Text media—documents, transcripts, readings, and captions—provide foundational information and accessibility support.
- Visual media—photographs, infographics, diagrams, and slides—illustrate concepts and enhance comprehension.
- Audio media—podcasts, narrations, audio files, and text-to-speech conversions—support auditory learners.
- Video media—lecture recordings, animations, screen captures, and interactive clips—combine visual and auditory elements.
How can you ensure your multimedia content is accessible? In addition to using the multimedia options embedded in Moodle and Kaltura My Media, students can always access YuJa Panorama’s Alternative Formats. These inclusive tools provide multiple engagement pathways that are automatically available and accessible, so every student can engage with course content in the way that works best for them.
