Welcome to our weekly BLOG: The Moodle Newdle. We’ll introduce you to some new Moodle features, as well as explore some of those you might have missed or forgotten.

YuJa Panorama PDF Remediation uses a blend of intelligent automation and human-centric review to help transform even the most complex PDFs into WCAG (Web Content Accessibility Guidelines)-aligned, fully structured, accessible documents. You can:

  • Add logical structure: organize with chapters, headings, paragraphs, and sections of special elements, such as figures, tables, and footnotes.
  • Add tags: improve readability for learners who use assistive technology.
  • Manually verify reading order: retain the original order or manually adjust it.
  • Visualize structural elements: hover over content to automatically highlight elements that need adjustment.

Why must PDFs be accessible? PDFs often deliver essential course information, and poorly structured PDFs create barriers for students who use screen readers, keyboards, and other assistive technologies—limiting their access to required course materials and putting them at an academic disadvantage. Providing accessible PDFs helps ensure that all students can engage with course materials equitably and may even reduce the need for some individual accommodations. Accessible PDFs also benefit everyone by making materials easier to navigate, read, and use across devices.
