Welcome to our weekly BLOG: The Moodle Newdle. We’ll introduce you to some new Moodle features, as well as explore some of those you might have missed or forgotten.
Open SUNY Course Quality Review (OSCQR) is a framework used to assess and enhance the instructional design, accessibility, and learner-centered focus of online and blended courses. Explicitly, Standard 29 recommends that courses “offer access to a variety of engaging resources to present content, support learning and collaboration, and facilitate regular and substantive interaction (RSI) with the instructor.”
Video serves as a high-impact instructional strategy that enhances learner engagement, reinforces instructor presence, and provides flexible, accessible content. So, consider how you can use Kaltura—our cloud-based video management and streaming platform—to activate this strategy in your course:
- Capture/Express Capture: record your screen, camera, and audio from your desktop
- My Media: upload video files (.mov, mp4, etc.) for long-term storage, publishing, and sharing options
- Media Assignment Activity: allow your students to submit a video directly to you for grading
- Video Quiz: create an interactive video quiz
- Closed-Captions: access machine or human captions
