Sharing Kaltura Videos
Since Zoom Cloud Recording storage is limited, we recommend that you host your videos in Kaltura. Kaltura videos can be accessed using My Media in Moodle (online.clackamas.edu) and MediaSpace (video.clackamas.edu).
Since Zoom Cloud Recording storage is limited, we recommend that you host your videos in Kaltura. Kaltura videos can be accessed using My Media in Moodle (online.clackamas.edu) and MediaSpace (video.clackamas.edu).
The Kaltura Video Resource can be added to any week or topic in your Moodle course. This will appear to be a link on the main course page that students can click on to view the video.
Scroll to where you want to add the Kaltura Video Resource.
Click the plus symbol to access the Add content drop-down menu.
NOTE: If you want to add between two existing activities or resources you will need to hover over the dashed line to have the Add content link appear.
Select Activity or resource option from the drop down.
Select Kaltura Video Resource from the Activity Chooser.
NOTE: If you can’t find the Kaltura video resource, type Kaltura into the search box.
Set up the basics your Kaltura video resource under the General section:
Locate the video you want to use, and click the Embed button to the right.
NOTE: If your video is not already available in Kaltura, you will need to click one of the 3 options at the top to Upload an existing video file, use Express Capture to record a new video, or add a YouTube link.
You can embed Kaltura videos into all Moodle Activities or Resources (Assignments, Text and Media, Forums, etc.) with the ATTO text editor. The video will appear as a thumbnail which students can click on to play.
Edit an Activity or Resource using the TinyMCE text editor.
Expand the TinyMCE toolbar by clicking on the … button
Click on the Kaltura button.
Locate the video you want to use, and click the Embed button to the right.
NOTE: If your video is not already available in Kaltura, you will need to click one of the 3 options at the top to Upload an existing video file, use Express Capture to record a new video, or add a YouTube link.
Click the Save and display button.
NOTE: The text on the Save button will vary slightly depending on the activity or resource you are embedding the video into.
The video will appear in the activity or resource using the Kaltura Video Player.
MediaSpace allows you to share a video with users outside of Moodle.
Log into MediaSpace (video.clackamas.edu) using your college credentials.
Click the Actions menu (three vertical dots).
Point to Publish status, then select the Unlisted option from the drop-down menu.
NOTE: If you do not change the Publish option from Private to Unlisted, the link will not work.
