Orientation

Communications

Communications between student and instructor is an essential part of any course. If you are enrolled in the hybrid section of this course, you will be reponsible for participating in discussion forums on the course Moodle site. You will also have face-to-face contact with the lab instructors each week; use your time in the lab to ask questions and to do the lab experiments. More details are provided in your syllabus, which is accessed via the course Moodle page.

On-Line Presentation of CH 104

Introductory Chemistry has been taught at Clackamas Community College for four decades. During that time both the content and the presentation have evolved. In Fall 1998 it was made available in this hybrid on-line + lab presentation. The intent of this Orientation (along with the Syllabus) is provide you with information about the course content, expectations, and mode of delivery.

Each lesson contains a statement of the purpose of the lesson and a list of objectives. You will be held responsible for what is stated in these objectives. You will be tested on them in the quizzes and final exam. Each lesson also contains assignments. Most include reading assignments, lab exercises to be turned in, and problem sets. You can find the assignments and objectives in your Workbook, as well as in the "Objectives" page in each online lesson.
