Find your Moodle Staging Area

You will need a staging area for this process. If you do not have one, please contact the OLET department by placing a ticket at Online Learning/Moodle Support, or by emailing us at online@clackamas.edu.

Find your Staging Area: Quick Search (for Sandbox Course)

These instructions require that you have not renamed the sandbox course originally created for you. If these directions do not work, you can also try a Manual search.

Log into Moodle.

Click on Dashboard on the red bar.

Open the block drawer.

Locate the Staff: Manual Course Access block.

Select the Manual search for Moodle courses link.

Locate the Search courses textbox.

Enter Sandbox followed by your first and last name, then hit Enter/Return on your keyboard or click on the magnifying glass to search.

Once you find your sandbox course, click the last name, first name link next to Category.

Now that you have found your staging area, you can create a new Moodle course, set up an incomplete, or delete courses you no longer use.

NOTE: If you did not find your staging area using this method, try a Manual seach.

Find your Staging Area: Manually

These instructions will work if you have renamed the sandbox course originally created for you. To use this method, you need to know your division and your department.

Log into Moodle.

Click on Dashboard on the red bar.

Open the block drawer.

Locate the Staff: Manual Course Access block.

Select the Faculty Workspace link.

Click on Course Staging Area (For Faculty) link.

Click on the link for your Division.

Click on the link for your Department.

Click on the link that is your last name, first name.

If you don’t find your staging area with this method, you can use the drop-down menu to look for your last name, first name.

NOTE: If you still can’t find your staging area or you would like to move your staging area to a different department, please contact the OLET department by placing a ticket at Online Learning/Moodle Support, or by emailing us at online@clackamas.edu.

Now that you have found your staging area, you can create a new Moodle course, set up an incomplete, or delete courses you no longer use.
