Turn in Assignment with Moodle

These instructions will work for any file saved on your computer, but we strongly suggest you organize your work by creating a folder (on desktop or thumb drive) and name it the same as your course (example: WR-122-01). There are two different methods you can use to upload your submission file(s).

How the methods differ:

  • Method One: Drag and Drop is the faster and easier of the two methods but won’t work from a smart phone or older browser.
  • Method Two: Browse and Add will work on almost any device and browser.

Go to your course and click on the Assignment

After the assignment loads, click on Add submission

Click, Drag and Drop your file into the upload box

When you drop the file, a progress bar will appear, letting you know the status of your upload

Once the upload is complete, the status bar will be replaced with the document icon

After the icon appears, click on Save changes

When your submission is complete, the following screen will appear

Here, you will see the status of your assignment. Notice that the file name of your submitted document appears next to File submissions

Ensure that Submission status reads Submitted for Grading

If it does not, double-check your submission (via the Edit submission button) and look for some way to confirm this as your final draft and you are ready to submit it

Method Two: Browse and Add an Assignment

Make a folder on your computer (desktop or thumb drive) and name it the same as your course (example: WR-122-01)

These instructions assume you have completed the homework assignment, following your instructor’s directions and saved the file to your computer.

Click on the link to the assignment activity

Click on the Add Submission button to open the assignment submission page

Click on the add file ico_addFile button

A part of the page may be replaced by a loading icon ico_loading for a time, do not click in this window/tab while this icon is present

Confirm your file name is listed next to Attachment

Click on the Upload this file button

Next to Attachment, Click the Choose File button in the middle of the window

Locate and select the File you want to turn in from your computer

Click the Open button in the bottom-right corner

On the next screen you should see your file in the big empty space

Click on the Save changes button

From the window that pops up, select the Upload a File from the options listed on the left if it is not already selected (If it is, clicking it again won’t hurt anything)

CHECK THINGS OVER:
You can and should confirm your assignment has been submitted from this page and download the file to ensure it’s not corrupt and is, indeed the file you meant to submit.

OPTIONAL: If it is corrupt or you realize you need to upload a newer copy of the file or a different file entirely you are welcome to click the Edit Submission Button

Also ensure that Submission status reads Submitted for Grading

If it does not, double-check your submission (via the Edit submission button) and look for some way to confirm this as your final draft and you are ready to submit it
