Display Letter Grades
You can choose to display a letter grade for the course and/or category total in the gradebook for both your students and yourself.

Scroll to the top of the main page of your course.
Select the Grades option from the secondary navigation.
Select the Gradebook Setup option from the drop-down menu.
Locate the Category you wish to display a letter grade.
NOTE: This can be the course title at the very top of the page.
From the Action (…) drop-down menu to the right of the category, select the Edit category option.
Scroll down to the Grade display type drop-down.
Select an option that includes Letter.
NOTE: You can choose to display the category total using two of the following: Real, Percent, Letter. If you select Real (letter) option it will display the points the total number of points the student has earned and the Letter grade within parentheses, such as 350.7 (B).
The default percent range for Letter Grades is as follows:
If you wish to display letter grades in Moodle and your syllabus percent range differs from the default you will need to follow these steps to modify.
Scroll to the top of the main page of your course.
Select the Grades option from the secondary navigation.
Select the Grade letters option from the drop-down menu.
Check the Override site defaults check-box.
Change the value in the second column to the new minimum percentage.
NOTE: For example I modified D to be awarded to students that grade percentage is not lower than 65% (65.00000). It was previously set to 60% (60.00000).
