Activity Completion: Students Manually Mark as Complete

These steps require that Completion tracking be enabled in your course.

You can have students track their progression by manually marking activities and resources as complete. Although, you can have Moodle automatically mark activities and resources complete by meeting specified conditions there may be times you wish to let students check off their own progress.

Locate the activity or resource where you want students to mark as done.

If Editing is turned on, click the Edit menu (three vertical dots) and click the Edit Settings option.

OR

Click into the activity or resource and from its secondary navigation click the Settings link.

Expand the Completion conditions section.

Select the Students must manually mark the activity as done option.

If you would like students to complete the activity or resource by a specific date you can enable and change the Set reminder in Timeline date. This won’t prevent students from accessing the activity or resource beyond that date but will post a reminder on the Timeline and Calendar located on the Dashboard.

Click the Save and return to course button.

With Edit mode turned on you can select Edit conditions from the Completion drop-down to modify these settings at a later date.
