Gradebook: How Grades are Displayed

In the Moodle gradebook you can modify how you would like grades displayed. You can choose to show the actual score (real), a percentage, a letter grade, or a combination. The current default display for the gradebook is Real (Percentage), which displays the actual total with the percentage in parentheses.

Change the way grade items, category and course totals are displayed by default

Scroll to the top of the main page of your course.

Select the Grades option from the secondary navigation

Select the Course grade settings option from the drop-down menu.

In the Grade Item settings section, change Grade Display Type drop-down to the desired setting.

Scroll to the bottom of the page.

Click the Save changes button.

Change the grade display type for an individual grade items or category (or course) total

Scroll to the top of the main page of your course.

Select the Grades option from the secondary navigation

Select the Gradebook Setup option from the drop-down menu.

Click the associated Edit menu (ellipse) and select Edit grade item (or Edit category).

Click the Show more… link

Change Grade display type drop-down to the desired setting:

Scroll to the bottom of the page.

Click the Save changes button.
