Troubleshooting Extra Credit

Extra Credit is Not Calculating Correctly

For extra credit to calculate correctly you can either have grade item(s) marked as extra credit OR a single category marked as extra credit. Do NOT put extra credit grade items inside of a category marked as extra credit.

To fix you will need to:

• Disable the extra credit setting from grade item(s) within the extra credit category
  OR
• Move extra credit grade item(s) outside of the extra credit category.

I can’t Create an Extra Credit item

You can only modify an existing grade item/category to be extra credit. You must first create a standard the grade item or category. You can then modify the item and make it extra credit.

Extra Credit Option is not Available.

Not all category aggregation types support extra credit. You will need to edit the category to allow for grade items to be extra credit.

Select Edit category from the actions drop-down menu. Make sure the aggregation type of the category is set to Natural or Simple weighted mean of grades.

Once you have changed the category you can make the item extra credit.
